Material Selection and Blueprint Reading
Description
An introductory course that covers manufacturing processes, material properties and mechanical drawing interpretation. Students will learn the relationship between mechanical stress and strain, general material behavior, processes such as casting, plastic injection molding, blow molding, machining, forging and others. This course will also provide an overview of mechanical drawing, proper dimensioning and use of special symbols of machine parts.

Cancellation:
To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to pdc@odu.edu or fax to (757) 683-5509 one business day prior to the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $75 processing fee will be refunded via check per Old Dominion University policy (we are unable to return money to a debit or credit card). There are no refunds once the class has begun.
