Game Theory
Description
Game theory is the study of rational behavior during situations of cooperation and conflict. The game theory course will focus on strategic decision-making in situations where individuals must interact with one another. Studying game theory can prepare engineers for strategic interaction with others, including situations involving negotiation, bargaining, and bidding.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Formulate a strategic interaction between two parties in game theoretic terms
  2. Determine preferred strategies for interactions in competitive and cooperative situations
  3. Understand how to use a game theoretic construct to assist in scenarios of resource division, bargaining, negotiation, and auctions
Target Audience:
  • Engineers with several years of industry experience
  • Engineers with managerial and decision-making responsibilities
  • Engineers who routinely work in team-based environments
Cancellation:
To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to pdc@odu.edu or fax to (757) 683-5509 one business day prior to the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $75 processing fee will be refunded via check per Old Dominion University policy (we are unable to return money to a debit or credit card).
