Decision Theory
Description
This course will equip engineers with the ability to differentiate between decision alternatives in a complex situation and defend a chosen course of action. The decision theory course will focus on how individuals make complex decisions, both from a prescriptive (ideal) and descriptive (actual) perspective.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Determine the preferred alternative of a complex decision problem
  2. Explore the influence of risk attitudes and uncertainty on a decision problem
  3. Understand the influence of framing and gain/loss asymmetry on decision making
Cancellation:
To withdraw from a course you must send a request in writing to pdc@odu.edu or fax to (757) 683-5509 one business day prior to the start date of the course. Failure to attend a course does not constitute withdrawal. Course registration fees, less a $75 processing fee will be refunded via check per Old Dominion University policy (we are unable to return money to a debit or credit card).
